How we check our figures

Every amount comes from a source we opened and link on the page: TIEZA, DOTr, CAAP, MIAA, airport operators, the Bureau of Immigration, DMW, laws and official notices, then airline fee pages and established news outlets. We do not use blogs, forums or social media posts as sources.

Each page shows the date we last checked it. When two official or reliable sources give different figures, we show both with their dates instead of choosing one. When we cannot confirm a figure, we leave it out and say so.

For proposed fees, we report what the proposal says, who made it, where it stands, and what officials, lawmakers and critics said, all attributed. We do not say whether a fee is fair.
